ChainLine Women’s Cycling Program
This year I was proud to be chosen as an ambassador for the ChainLine Women’s Cycling Club. A program operated with the support of our local bike shops, ChainLine Cycle.
As a fairly new cyclist and triathlete I love to encourage others to take the leap and try out new activities. Women tend to be underrepresented in the cycling community, so this program hopes to go some way to rectifying this inequality.
“The ChainLine Women’s Cycling Club is dedicated to creating an inclusive cycling community; empowering women at all levels”
The group leads weekly recovery rides Spring – Fall, from the ChainLine Cycle location with a relaxed pace and friendly atmosphere. This allows beginners to join a group at a pace they can manage whilst more experienced riders can take part in some active recovery after their hard weekend rides. Everyone is welcome and fancy Lycra and expensive road bikes are not required – I’ve even been known to show up on my mountain bike!
